UCD Medicine Clinical Pathway 2016/2017 Now Accepting Applications
Call for Applications
The School invites applications for adjunct academic appointment, promotion or re-appointment under the 2016/2017 UCD Medicine Clinical Pathway. This is the ninth call for applications under the highly successful scheme which has seen almost 900 applications under the pathway since its inception in 2008. The scheme is designed to recognise those clinicians engaged in a career in medicine within our affiliated teaching (acute, general and specialist) hospitals and within primary and community care centres who support our academic programmes.
Appointments To Date
Adjunct appointees under the UCD Medicine Clinical Pathway scheme will be ordinarily employed outside of UCD, within the healthcare system and make a significant contribution to the School through teaching, mentoring, research programmes, professional appointments and School development activities. Currently a total of 470 individuals hold UCD Clinical Pathway appointments comprising 255 UCD Assistant Clinical Professor, 142 UCD Associate Clinical Professor, 64 UCD Clinical Professor and 9 UCD Full Clinical Professor appointments.
At this time, applications are invited from:
- Individuals seeking first time appointment under the scheme
- Individuals appointed in 2010/2011 or previous years who wish to renew their existing appointments for another 5 year term
- Individuals within the existing UCD Medicine Clinical Pathway who wish to be considered for advancement to a higher academic rank based on outputs and achievements.
Applicants should complete the relevant application form and submit to their relevant Academic Section Leader. Full details of the application process and application forms can be found here.
Applications must be made using the Ucd Medicine Clinical Pathway application form. No other documentation (including personal CV's or letters of commendation) are required. In the interests of fairness and transparency, the Review Panel can only consider information contained within the offical application form.
Applications will be accepted from the 1st October 2016 to the 9th December 2016. The formal review of applications will take place during the second semester and it is hoped appointments will be announced before the end of the current academic year.
