Celebrating Our Distinguished Graduates

Our reputation is established by the many graduates who have practiced medicine and radiography with distinction in Ireland and across the world since the School's foundation in 1854.  Some have returned to their alma mater with great experience ; Others hold leadership positions in other great medical schools and health systems.

We strive to maintain a strong connection with our alumni across the globe and are supported in this ambition by UCD Development & Alumni Relations and the UCD Medical Graduates Association.

Annual Reunions

The highlight of our alumni interaction is the annual Alumni Reunion Celebration for Medicine classes who graduated 60, 50, 40, 30, 25, 20 and 10 years ago.  This event is held each year during the May Bank Holiday. It comprises an afternoon of CME accredited scientific lectures given by current staff and members of the graduating classes.

Alumni Reunion 2013

The School is looking forward to welcoming the graduating classes of 1953, 1958, 1963, 1973, 1983, 1988, 1993 and 2003 to the UCD Health Sciences Centre to celebrate the annual alumni reunion. The 2013 reunion takes place at UCD Health Sciences Centre, Belfield Dublin 4 on 3rd May 2013. The event will include a CME-accredited scientific meeting and a formal social event and dinner at O'Reilly Hall, UCD.

Speaking in advance of this imporant event, Dean of Medicine, Professor Patrick Murray said:

It is my very great pleasure to welcome you to the 2013 UCD Medical Alumni Gala Reunion for the classes of 1953, 1958, 1963, 1973, 1983, 1988, 1993 and 2003. The School aims to provide a greater level of support to our Alumni, and together with the Medical Graduates Association, wishes to ensure that you have a solid mechanism for staying in touch with each other. The social and professional networks you formed with your class group during your studies at UCD will have played a large role in who you are today and I can think of no better way to celebrate this time than reuniting for this special event and re-forging those links.
