Inaugural Conference on Collaborative Lifespan Research
The North Dublin Hospital Group (NDHG) recognises the importance of collaboration in research for the healthcare system and for the country as a whole and as a result it is hosting the Inaugural Conference on Collaborative Lifespan Research. The purpose of the conference is to bring together an outstanding and diverse group of clinicians, researchers, and thought leaders at the forefront of collaborative research in Ireland.
Contemporary Issues in Hospital Practice
The annual Dublin Academic Medical Centre (DAMC) Contemporary Issues in Hospital Practice conference takes place on 25th October 2012. Themes include vascular interventive medicine in the new hospital, advances in cancer treatment, new hospital doctors - opportunities in training and patient care, and modernising healthcare delivery.

UCD Student Medical Journal Launch
A launch of the first UCD Student Medical Journal, which takes place at 17.00, Wednesday 26th September, in the Red Room of the new UCD Student Centre. The journal contains original research, patient-focused feature articles, literature reviews and opinion editorials. Speakers at the launch will include: Professor Bill Powderly, Dr Jason Last and Ms Orla Tinsley.
Conway Festival of Research & Innovation 2012
The 2012 UCD Conway Festival takes place on Thursday 20th September 2012 between 9am-5pm at the UCD Conway Institute.
Plenary speakers include Professor Zena Werb (University of California San Francisco), Dr Eileen Furlong (European Molecular Biology Laboratory) and Professor Finian Martin (UCD Conway). Invited Conway Speakers include Dr Kevin O'Connor, Prof Ciaran Regan, Dr Giuliano Elia, Prof Kenneth Dawson, Prof Ulla Knaus and Prof Jeremy Simpson.
The Conway Festival also includes an Industry Engagement Open Forum (at 1pm) and an Early Career Researcher Open Forum (Wed 19th 3-5pm).
