Student Staff Charity Football Match
Rescheduled from Friday 14th February 2014.
Students and staff are taking part in a charity ‘Meds versus/and Staff’ soccer match at UCD Belfield on the afternoon of Friday, 21st February 2014 (Kick-off is provisionally scheduled for 4:00pm).
The game is the brainchild of Kevin Keane, Stage 4 Medicine student as part of his contribution to the 100 Minds, fundraising initiative. The idea behind 100 Minds is simple. 100 students from across Ireland giving 100% to raise €1,000 each in aid of Temple Street Children’s Hospital. Kevin is well on the way to his personal fundraising goal. You can see his progress here and details of how the raised funding will be utilised here.
The charity "Meds v/and Staff" football event is intended as a well-natured, fun game and is sure to generate some interest as well as raising funds for this great cause.
Our students have thrown down the gauntlet and invite staff to take part in the match. It isn’t necessary that you’ve ever played soccer before or if you don't think you could 'last' the full match. Any participation will be greatly and enthusiastically appreciated.
The organisers hope to raise additional funding from admission fees and from a sponsored match day programme. Please come along and support or participate in aid of a very good cause.
Please note that this event is not being organised by the UCD School of Medicine & Medical Science. Details are posted here to help publicise the event.
