Developing Connected Health

Connected Health has been identified as a key area for strategic research funding in 2015 calls by both the SFI and the EU Horizon 2020 programmes. UCD has unique strengths in data analytics platforms which could be utilized to support strong interdisciplinary proposals. In order to explore the possibilities of accessing these opportunities, all Staff and affiliated staff are invited to a College of Health Science meeting 'Developing Connected Health' which takes place at Belfield on Thursday 15th May 2014 at 4pm.

The purpose of the meeting is to engage both academics and clinicians and introduce the possibility of utilising the Connected Health platform in UCD. The objective is to design projects which would be competitive for funding through Horizons 2020 and the SFI centre calls.

The meeting will outline the the capabilities of the Connected Health platforms in UCD (Insight and Arch), and give an overview of the policy and funding landscape. There will also be presentations from Principal Investigators who have developed a proof of concept in submitting Connected Health proposals.

The meeting will in held in the ALE room C2.16/2.17 in the UCD O'Brien Science Centre (New Science Centre) at 4pm on May 15th. There will be refreshments afterwards and an opportunity for networking and further discussion on how to engage and next steps.

Meeting Agenda

The purpose of the meeting is to engage academics and clinicians to inform them of the technology and capabilities that exist (Insight & ARCH), and with this focus, generate clinical research questions that might benefit from this approach.
