4th UCDSMJ Student Medical Journal Launch

The Executive Team of the University College Dublin Student Medical Journal launch the 4th edition of their journal in the C006, UCD Health Sciences Centre on Thursday April 20th at 6:30 pm.  The launch event will consist of a panel discussion on the theme of Global Health followed by a reception.

Education & Development Officer, Ms Ruky Agbahovbe revealed the discussion theme as UCDSMJ+ announced details of the launch.

After careful consideration, the committee has decided that a topic related to factors affecting today’s medical students and doctors would be most fitting and engaging for the panel discussion. As such, our title of choice is “Global Health: Where does Ireland stand?”

The confirmed speakers for this year include:

  • Dr Philip Crowley (Chair of HSE Global Health Programme)
  • Dr Hasheem Mannan (UCD Health Systems)
  • Dr Joe Gallagher (Clinical Director of UCD gHealth)
  • Ms Brynne Gilmore (Board of Irish Forum for Global Health).

The discussion will be moderated by #IrishMed curator Dr Liam Farrell (@drlfarrell)

The purpose of the journal is twofold: to help students, past and present, understand the publishing process and get published; and to help build a curiosity for research and push the boundaries of current thinking within our student population. The content we have received is of an excellent standard, and the committee strives to show to as many people as possible that this body of talent exists within our medical school.

UCDSMJ+ invite all School staff and students to join them at the launch event.  Please RSVP to this event using this link.
