Molecular Neuroimmunology Journal Club
Goal: The goal of the Neuroimmunology Journal Club and Seminar series is to provide a forum for in-depth discussion about mechanisms underlying bidirectional communication between the immune and nervous systems, both, from the Neuroscience and Immunology point of view.
Time and Place: Meetings will take place at lunchtime (1.00 to 2.00) every thursday in Seminar Room 1 in the Conway Institute.
Everyone is welcome to attend and present. If you have a paper you would like to hear discussed in depth, or you have current work or a project you want to receive feed back from people with Neuroscience, Immunology and/or Neuroimmunology interests.
Rules and Guidelines
Rules:
The presentations should be around 40 minutes, with 10-15 minutes discussion. One presentation per week.
For journal club papers, a database (click on the right side of this page) is set up where presenters can check for papers to make sure they haven't been presented already. The selected paper (PDF format) will be sent by e-mail to all members of the journal club. Ideally, it should be sent no later than a week before the scheduled journal club.
If you have to cancel a presentation for any reason, announce it by sending an e-mail to all members of the journal club.
Guidelines for selection of journal club papers:
Presentations should cover papers of broad interest within the Neuroscience, immunology and/or Neuroimmunology field. Papers from high profile journals often, but not exclusively, meet these criteria. Presentation format can be oral, a transparency or powerpoint presentation followed by questions from the group.
