Welcome to UCD Mícheál Ó Cléirigh Institute

Welcome / Fáilte

The Mícheál Ó Cléirigh Institute for the Study of Irish History and Civilisation, University College Dublin is a leading research institute in the field of Irish studies. It was founded in 2000 as part of the UCD-OFM (Order of Friars Minor) Partnership which also initiated the transfer of the priceless Irish Franciscan archive to University College Dublin. The Institute supports researchers in their pursuit of major projects and theses and promotes Irish studies among academics and the public through conferences, seminars and publications.

Ionad ceannródaíoch taighde i stair agus sibhialtacht na hÉireann is ea Fondúireacht Mhíchíl Uí Chléirigh. Bunaíodh é sa bhliain 2000 mar chuid den comhpháirtíocht idir An Coláiste Ollscoile, Baile Átha Cliath agus Ord na bProinsiasach in Éirinn a thiomnaigh aistriú leabharlann luachmhar na bProinsiasach i gCill Iníon Léinín go Cartlann an Choláiste Ollscoile. Tacaíonn Institiúid Mhichíl Uí Chléirigh le lucht léinn ina gcuid taighde agus le meas ar shaibhreas stairiúil na tíre a spreagadh in Éirinn an lae inniu.
