ARCH50010 Disseminating Archaeology & Heritage Research

Academic Year 2022/2023

This module, designed for PhD scholars as part of the UCD Structured PhD Programme, explores through practical applications, guidance and training how archaeologists and heritage specialists can communicate the results of research to their wider discipline and to the general public. We may explore traditional dissemination routes, such as seminar and conference papers and posters, chairing sessions and discussing papers, different types of peer reviewed publications (journal articles, edited conference proceedings, books), as well as various social media platforms (e.g. Facebook Groups, YouTube videos, blogs etc.) used to promote research.

You will be required to design and present an academic paper/poster, either for a conference or for publication, to discuss other papers and chair sessions, and develop your own style and best practice in communicating research in a public context.
