Over the course of the training days, candidates will be exposed to a variety of talks and presentaitons about virtually all aspects of cereal disease control from both their peers and internationally recognised experts in the field. Candidates will prepare and present both scientific presentions and posters to an expert audience and receive direct feedback and advice on their work. Through these activities, candidates will develop skills in the following areas:
- extensive knowledge and understanding of cereal diseases and their managment in the context of global food supply.
- extensive experience of preparing, drafting and critiquing reports, presentations and posters about thier own work in cereal disease research.
- experience of public speaking and research dissemination, particulalry to peers and expert audiences.

All candidates must have a firm grounding in some aspect of plant biology or pathology, with a specific focus on cereals and diseases of cereals.
