BMGT45090 Business Simulation

This module is is a capstone module which draws on and advances your capabilities in business management focusing in competence areas such as strategy, marekting, operations, finance, and soft skills. It is designed to provide MiM students with the opportunity to engage in decision making in relation to improving overall operational effectiveness. There are four aspects of this module which need to be noted
(i) the preparatory phase during which students complete a set of assigned readings and are assessed on their understanding of them
(ii) the business simulation in which participants compete with each other in teams (teams are assigned and support / feedback is provided at pertinent stages)
(iii) the behavioural observation team work (team roles, leadership skills) as they emerge and
(iv) the translation of the simulation experience into ten steps in real busines practice.

Learning Outcomes:

On completing this module students will be expected to be able to
1. Identify the factors which influence a firm's / organization overall operational effectiveness
2. Critically assess the usefulness of business theoretical models in strategic management and business practice
3. Organize and manage teams to ensure overall effectiveness
4. Complete a critical review on the learning and business processes included in the business simulation.
