CRWT40060 Creative Writing Workshop I

Academic Year 2019/2020

This special module is offered as a weekly workshop by a different writer each year as part of the Arts Council Writer in Residence programme. The Writer in Residence will explore the writing process and his own work with the group, and provide them with a range of stimuli for their own writing. The student writing will be critically evalauated by the Writer in residence and through peer evalaution in a workshop context.

1. The capacity to evaluate creative critically a work in progress
2. An increased ability to revise and redraft
3. Understanding of the writing process of the Writer in Residence.
4. A clearer understanding of what is central in the work in progress
5. A sense of the importance of careful editing.
