Students taking this module will: 1) gain familiarity with key themes related to the history of conversion,
2) be introduced to primary sources and pertinent scholarship, 3) be exposed to a truly interdisciplinary approach to conversion history (combining history, archaeology, and anthropology), and 4) will encounter major themes in early medieval history which are connected to conversion, such as the rise of kingship, the formation of medieval states, and the construction of European identities.
