The effective people management is one of the main levers that managers possess to accomplish their organizations’ strategic goals. During this module, we will discuss the strategic management of people, the changing nature of the HRM function, and the impact of different types of HRM strategies on organizations and employees.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module students are expected to be able to:
• Discuss the links between business strategy and HRM
• Discuss the roles and activities of the HRM function
• Understand the role of HRM in building and sustaining organizational culture
• Understand the interaction between HRM, organizational design and change management
• Understand the employment relationship and legal framework for HRM activities
• Understand HRM strategies for key functions including recruitment, selection and reward management.
