-Analyse transcribed speech and represent phonological patterning using formal tools
-Analyse and interpret acoustic speech signals
-Construct models to illustrate phonological knowledge
-Evaluate competing formal representations and identify the implications of contrasting approaches
Phonetic variation: analysis of variation within varieties of one language
Phonological variation: phonological structure/representations, including segmental representations, sonority, syllable structure, metrical structure
