MIS40950 Practicum

Academic Year 2018/2019

The Practicum applies the theory covered in the first two semesters to a practical industry-sourced analytics problem that will not have significant novelty of method (compared to the dissertation pathway which requires significant novelty).
We lecturers are increasingly approached by industry sponsors and part time students with such problems and the provision of this pathway aims to accommodate them.
The Practicum will involve defining, modelling, solving and interpreting the solution of such a problem, by use of a computer package or program.
This may be done wholly or partly on site with a business sponsor but this is project-specific and may not be required.
It will be assessed by a written report.
