About us

The UCD Nanomedicine Centre boasts high calibre faculty across the key research strands in Nanomedicine; namely a core in the creation, characterisation, and modification of nanomaterials complemented by studies devoted to the application of nanometric compounds to various medical fields through biology, physics, engineering, and clinical trials.

Predominantly housed in the new Science Centre South building and close to the UCD Conway Institute of Biomolecular and Biomedical Research, the UCD Nanomedicine Centre is perfectly located to interact with each of the relevant entities, namely the College of Science, School of Medicine, Animal Facilities and the Innovation and Technology Transfer Centre NovaUCD, which are all situated on the UCD Belfield campus. Thanks to its strategic location, the Centre can provide a key link in the chain from fundamental research to translational research, pre-clinical trials, industry spin-off and manufacture to clinical trials in the UCD-affiliated St Vincent’s hospital located nearby.
