An inter-varsity photography competition for staff and students of the seven universities in Ireland to celebrate the European Year of Equal Opportunities for All 2007
A photography competition has been organised by the equality personnel and students’ union in all seven universities to mark the European Year of Equal Opportunities for All.
The theme of the competition is “Changing Perspectives: Equality and Diversity in my University”. It aims to raise awareness, stimulate debate and to emphasise the positive contribution that all people, irrespective of their gender, racial or ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation, can make to university life and society as a whole.
This competition is open to all staff and students in each of the seven universities and you do not need to be an experienced photographer to enter.
All you need is a digital camera and a bit of a creative flair. The competition is divided into two categories: staff and student. The prize for the winner of each category is €150 and the runner up prize for each category is €100.
The UCD winners go forward to the national competition, which has a prize fund of €3,500 and the top 12 entries will be included in a special calendar for 2008.
To enter this competition, all you need to do is to complete an entry form and submit it with a 8 x 10 print or a JPEG High Resolution of the photograph along with a description (no longer than 100 words) of how your entry reflects the theme of the competition by email to communications@ucd.ie or by hand to the University Relations office, 2nd floor, Tierney Building. All entries must be received by 07 November 2007.
