UCD Graduate Studies Opportunities Day
Designed to provide prospective graduate students with a unique opportunity to explore the range of graduate programmes available at University College Dublin, the UCD Graduate Studies Opportunities Day will take place on 05 March 2008.
At the event, visitors will be able to discover more about the range of taught and research programmes available at UCD, the five UCD Graduate Schools, the new innovative structured PhD programme and the modular taught programmes. Visitors will also be able to take guided tours of the Belfield campus including lecture theatres, laboratories, the library, student residences, sports facilities and the expansive campus.
By visiting a host of exhibition stands and listening to information talks, prospective graduate students will get a real sense of what UCD has to offer.
At 3:00pm, prospective graduate students will have the opportunity to meet with academic and research staff, and current students from their area of interest. Other support and administrative staff will also be on hand to answer any questions prospective students may have. At 3.45pm, the Dean of Graduate Studies at UCD will host a panel discussion with prospective students and internationally recognised academics and professionals. Following this an exhibition of UCD research and taught masters programmes will be on view in the main Exhibition Hall.
Prospective graduate students will then be invited to tour areas and institutes of specific interest to them across the Belfield campus. At the end of the campus tour, staff members will be on hand to answer any final questions prospective graduate students may have. To conclude the UCD Graduate Studies Opportunities Day, a reception will take place in the Exhibition Hall where prospective graduate students can meet with current UCD graduate students.
