Nominations open in Governing Authority staff panel elections

Nomination papers have been posted to UCD staff in connection with elections to the fourth Governing Authority, which will hold office for five years from 01 February 2009. 

Lists of the elective bodies in the three staff panels - professorial; non-professorial academic; and non-academic – are published on the Governing Authority webpage. Nominations will close on Wednesday, 29 October 2008 at 5.00 p.m.

Voting papers and other election documents will be posted to members of the three staff elective bodies in the week commencing 03 November.  Polling will close on 25 November at 5.00 p.m.  The counting of votes will take place on 26 and 27 November.

The professorial elective body comprises the President and the following staff appointed by the University to permanent appointments as on 1 September 2008, and such staff appointed by the University as on 1 September 2008 on contracts of three or more years’ duration: Professors; Associate Professors; Professors in Administrative Roles; Funded Professors; and Research-Funded Professors.

The non-professorial academic staff elective body comprises academic staff, other than Professors and Associate Professors, holding permanent appointments as on 1 September 2008, and such staff appointed by the University as on 1 September 2008 on contracts of three or more years’ duration.

The non-academic staff elective body comprises staff appointed by the University to permanent appointments as on 1 September 2008 in the non-academic activities and services of the University, and such staff appointed by the University as on 1 September 2008 on contracts of three or more years’ duration.

In the event of a conflict regarding membership of an elective body, the decision of the Chairman of the Governing Authority shall be final.
