Acclaimed international and Irish acts to play UCD Ball
Friday 24 April – Tickets go on sale from 01 April.
Ireland’s largest student event, the UCD Ball will take place on Friday 24 April. Critically acclaimed acts like Iglu & Hartley, Booka Shade and Japanese Popstars will perform at the all-day event. Performances by homegrown Irish acts will include: Hogan, Ever Twenty Seven, and one of Belfield’s favourites, the Republic of Loose. As part of the UCD Ents ‘Blast from the Past’ series, re-formed British pop group S Club will also appear in the line-up. A silent headphone disco, implemented at the 2008 UCD Ball and at the UCD Student Club, will also be hosted during the ten-hour event.
“We are delighted to have been able to build on the huge success of last year’s ball and attract some top Irish and international acts to UCD,” says Gary Redmond the UCD Students’ Union Entertainments Officer.
“This is a great way to end a great year. The UCD Ball will cater for up to 5,000 students who want to make their last day of 2008/2009 a memorable one. It’s an especially important event for final year students giving them the last chance to have fun with all their friends before leaving UCD.”
