RoboRugby - Lego robot war in UCD Engineering

19 robots...55 students...2000 Euro in prizes...70000 lego pieces...873876 hours in the lab...one Siemens RoboRugby champion.

The UCD School of Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering wishes to invite you to the 2nd annual Siemens RoboRugby Autonomous Robot Design Competition which will take place in the William Jefferson Clinton Auditorium (UCD, Belfield) at 7pm Thursday April 20th.

RoboRugby is the final part of the Robotics Design Challenge module, better known as RoboRugby. 55 of our Stage 1 students have been working hard on their robot designs since January. On Thursday April 20th, they will put them to their final test in the RoboRugby competition, in front of a large audience. Last year we had over 250 people attend - standing room only! Siemens is again our generous sponsor and over 2000 Euro in prizes is available for the top performing teams. We will also be awarding the Darius Innovative Design Award named in memory of the late Darius Vasseghi, who took part in RoboRugby in 2005.

As we expect a full house, please arrive early to get a seat (light refreshments available from 6:30). The competition involves roughly 40 matches, each of which last 1 minute and the winning team should be crowned by 9:30pm.
