Facilities
The Campus
Conveniently located 10 kilometres south of Dublin’s city centre
in the lively coastal village of Blackrock, our dedicated parkland campus
has excellent leisure and accommodation facilities, without losing focus
on learning. The 25-acre parkland campus of Smurfit School offers a mature,
friendly and relaxed atmosphere, while the part commercial, part artisan
village of Blackrock provides numerous shops, bars, cafés and restaurants.
DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) or bus can take you into Dublin’s shopping and entertainment centres or out to the countryside or beach. This provides students with the unique experience of living in the city voted Europe’s best place to live, while simultaneously experiencing Irish culture within the domain of a small town situation.
Accommodation
The mixture of residential and off-campus accommodation lends a distinctly
friendly and sociable atmosphere to the School. Proby House, our new postgraduate
residence, has just been completed on campus. Warm, friendly and cosmopolitan,
this new development consists of two or six bedroom apartments, fully
furnished with individual ensuite facilities. Accommodation is also available
on the main campus at Belfield, UCD and the Blackrock area has plenty
of residential accommodation for rent, both apartment style and larger
houses.
UCD Sports Centre Sporting Facilities

with state-of-the art facilities and fitness equipment and a sports medical
centre. In addition, a full array of indoor and outdoor sporting activities
is on offer from 59 University clubs, ranging from aikido to potholing.
