The UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems has had a long and fruitful association with our partner hospitals and works actively to maintain and strengthen these partnerships. Within the wide range of clinical sites, our students advance their repertoire of knowledge and skills for practice in a variety of care settings and contexts.
Knowledge and skills for professional nursing and midwifery practice are essential elements of our programmes which are designed and delivered in partnership with clinical sites. Clinical learning within these sites is both directed and self-directed, and students are supported in identifying and optimising their learning experiences and reflecting on them. Clinical learning is further facilitated through the use of innovative teaching-learning methods in clinical skills laboratories and in real-world clinical settings.
