What is Nursing & Midwifery History?
Nursing & Midwifery History concerns the study of the history of nursing and midwifery using the methods of historical research. Historical research has become an important approach in the study of a range of professional, social and clinical concerns to the disciplines of nursing and midwifery and to date a substantial body of critical scholarship has been published in the field. The establishment of the UCD Irish Centre for Nursing & Midwifery History (ICNMH) confirms the importance of historical research to disciplinary development in nursing and midwifery. The Centre is a national resource for research and scholarship in the field. For further information visit the Centre’s website at: http://www.ucd.ie/icnmh/
