Biography:
I am a lecturer and I co-ordinate the Master Degree programme in Advanced Nursing Practice since it began in 2001. This role incorporates teaching, clinical and classroom assessments, curriculum development, administration and liaison with clinical colleagues. I was centrally involved in organising and teaching the first Professional Certicate in Advanced Health Assessment which started in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems in September 2008. I am also the programme leader for the Professional Certificate in Clinical Judgement and Pain Management which commences in January 2009. I was the programme leader for the Cancer Nursing programme from 1998 to 2006 and I am involved in teaching on this post graduate diploma programme. I am a member of the following: National Executive Committee of the Irish Association for Nurses in Oncology, European Oncology Nursing Society Accreditation Committee, Irish Cancer Society Medical Committee, National Cancer Institute/All Ireland Nurses Working Group and Honorary Member of the Irish Breast Care Nurses Association.
