Research Interests
| Doctoral Research: I am a graduate research student (PhD) in the UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery & Health Systems. The topic for this research study is ‘Women's experience of acute coronary syndromes'. The proposed study aims to explore the recovery experience of women following an acute coronary syndrome. There is a need to address the deficits in research regarding women's recovery in coronary heart disease. The impact of the illness, the process of coping and adjustment to the necessary behaviour modification and lifestyle changes requires investigation. This research will focus on women with an acute coronary syndrome. The bulk of my nursing experience is in the area of cardiovascular care delivery. I believe my nursing experience will contribute greatly to the completion of this research. I have gained ethical approval and I am currently in the data collectuon phase of the study. |
