Connected Health Awareness Seminar

The aim of the Connected Health Awareness Seminar is to provide a greater understanding of the Connected Health organisations and companies operating in Ireland and their activities. 

Representatives from the European Connected Health Campus, the Technology Research for Independent Living (TRIL) Centre, BiancaMed and HomeInstead will be presenting. 

Eoin Lambkin, Director of the European Connected Health Campus

The European Connected Health Campus (ECHC) brings together clinicians, researchers, innovators, policy developers, investors and a wide range of specialist enterprises. The ECHC aims to transform healthcare delivery by enhancing the quality and effectiveness of care with changing demographics, clinical priorities and focus on patient expectations. Eoin will provide an introduction to Connected Health, opportunities in the sector and detail the mission of the European Connected Health Campus.

Seamus Small, Manager, Technology Research for Independent Living (TRIL) Centre

The TRIL Centre is an active research collaboration between industry and academia exploring the physical, cognitive and social consequences of ageing and developing technologies solutions to address them.  TRIL Centre partners include Intel, Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin and the National University of Ireland, Galway. The Centre is driving bi-directional knowledge and technology transfer through the collective work of a multidisciplinary team of 70 researchers. Seamus will give an overview of the TRIL Centre, discuss the challenges and opportunities in multi-disciplinary research and academic/industry collaborations.

Dr Conor Hanley, CEO and co-founder, BiancaMed

BiancaMed is a leading medical health technology company which offers leading health technology solutions for monitoring everyday living. based in NovaUCD.  BiancaMed, which is headquartered in NovaUCD, will discuss their products and their international links in the Connected Health arena.

Karl Schutte, Director, HomeInstead

HomeInstead Senior Care is the world’s largest and most trusted provider of comprehensive home care services for the elderly. These services are provided through a network of franchise offices. Karl Schutte holds a HomeInstead Senior Care franchise covering Dublin 2, 4, 6 & 8 and is based at NovaUCD.  Karl will provide an overview of the people who use HomeInstead’s service and how they can benefit from connected health.

Location: Vehicular entrance to NovaUCD is located on Fosters Avenue, approximately 200m from the Stillorgan dual carriageway (N11).  The road from this gate leads directly towards NovaUCD. Car parking for visitors is on the right hand side of the road, before reaching NovaUCD.  The main entrance to the NovaUCD reception is through the front door of the building.
