Innovation for Advantage: A Strategic Toolkit for Designing and Delivering a Breakout Strategy

 AiiP_Header_2011

What differentiates high performance, double-digit growth companies from those that are average or underperforming? The answer is that the most successful companies in any industry always employ, in their own tailored ways, a set of integrated strategy practices.

Professor Lawton’s central message is that the key ingredients for the establishment of high-performance, double-digit growth companies are entrepreneurs or senior managers who are fired up for change and who have developed a strategic toolkit that can lead to a winning position.

In his innovation lecture Professor Thomas Lawton will provide an insight into the trajectories and techniques that you need to move toward the ‘sweet spots’ that exist in your industry. He will emphasise the need to harmonise the hard, financial and technology processes with the softer, leadership and people factors. The result is an inclusive picture of successful strategy formulation and execution.

During his lecture he will present a vision-led and customer-centric strategic operating system that is realistic, field tested, and within reach of every management team, regardless of size, resources or functional activity.

This lecture is based on Professor Lawton’s book, Breakout Strategy, which has been widely commended for its global focus and relevance to practicing managers and aspiring leaders, and more than 15 years of research and consulting with leaders of large and small companies from around the world.

Professor Lawton is Professor of Strategy and International Business at EMLYON Business School, one of Europe’s top ten business schools. He is also a Visiting Professor at the Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth (USA) and a visiting faculty member at Imperial College London. His research expertise focuses on business model innovation, strategic political management and organisational capabilities, political risk and internationalisation strategy and strategy process and practice. He is also a leading global authority on strategic management in the airline business.
