LogScreen Scoops Most Promising Start-Up Award

LogScreen, the NovaUCD-headquartered IT security solutions company, has scooped the Most Promising Start-Up Award at the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Enterprise Awards.

Organised by the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Enterprise Board, the award ceremony took place last night during the ‘Flying Higher – Celebrating and Inspiring Enterprise’ event at the Royal Marine Hotel, Dún Laoghaire in front of an audience of over 200 people.

LogScreen is currently developing innovative products for deployment in global financial services markets. LogScreen offers managed security solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises on the basis of business process outsourcing. LogScreen’s core services comprise the integrated collection, processing, correlation, assessment, alerting and trending of security and risk information from IT systems and networks.

The company was founded in 2009 by Karl Schäckermann and Matthias Jacobs both of whom have extensive experience in risk management and information technology.

Bid Management Services, which has won €200 million worth of business for clients in the last year, won the overall County Enterprise Award. Founded in 2008 by Joanne Gillen and Dr Peter Brennan the company manages bid projects, proposals and response documents for public and private sector tenders. The company currently employs 7 full-time and 3 part-time staff members. Bid Management Services also won the Best Growth Award.

Mary Cronin, Web Team International, won the Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award and Kelly Felton, PlanMyParty.ie took the Best Networker of the Year Award.

Michael Johnson, CEO, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Enterprise Board (DLRCEB), congratulating all the winners said, “As these micro-businesses demonstrate, there are lots of success stories coming from Ireland’s small business community that deserve to be recognised and rewarded. If small businesses are to continue to maintain current jobs and create new ones, then we must continue to support their efforts through wide-ranging support services.”

Bid Management Services will now represent the county of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown at the National Enterprise Awards to be held in November.
