Editors Notes

Digital Mines is a cloud computing company which is focused on the European market and has offices in Dublin, Ireland and Krakow, Poland.  The company offers software to allow business owners to manage their IT infrastructure and applications from one control panel, with simple controls to scale capacity, monitor performance and manage costs.

Logentries is an emerging log management as a service provider, offering a cloud based service for automatically collecting, analysing and storing log data from almost any IT platform or operating system. Cloud based log management provides a cost effective approach for handling log data and does not require in house servers to host your log management solution, nor does it require management of installations or deployments. Logentries can be configured with either in house servers, or with cloud deployments and gives a single interface across your entire IT infrastructure. Visualisation of data and highlighting of significant log entries allows end users to find and resolve problems fast.

Logentries is based upon research carried out by Dr Viliam Holub and Dr Trevor Parsons in the Performance Engineering Laboratory in UCD’s School of Computer Science and Informatics. Logentries, which is headquartered in NovaUCD, is funded by Enterprise Ireland.
