UCD Intellectual Property Policy
The University College Dublin, Intellectual Property Policy and Procedures was formally approved by the UCD Governing Authority in July 2006.
This new Policy, which incorporates and replaces the main provisions of UCD Patents Policy and Programme (1992), was developed in accordance with international best practice.
This Policy takes account of the changes in legislation, including the Copyright and Related Rights Act, 2000 and is consistent with the Funding Agency Requirements and Guidelines for Managing Research-Generated Intellectual Property and the National Codes of Practice.
The Policy also provides for a significant increase in the level of commercial income distributed to researchers and other creators of Intellectual Property.
The following scale will apply in the sharing of net income available for distribution to the creators of IP.
