Outreach
Welcome to the homepage of the UCD Access Centre. The role of the Centre is to foster an environment that is attractive to students from diverse backgrounds including mature students and school leavers regardless of their socio-economic background or disability.
The UCD Access Centre delivers a range of initiatives to facilitate widening participation in UCD, including outreach, admissions and student support.
The Centre co-ordinates the Disability Access Route to Education (DARE) and the Higher Education Access Route (HEAR) admissions schemes.
The ethos of the UCD Access Centre is to foster an inclusive educational environment and to facilitate students to become independent learners who engage fully in college life in UCD. As a result of this, a suite of personal and academic supports have been devised for mature students, students from the HEAR scheme (socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds) and students with disabilities.
