Plus has latest news on the home page of the Partnership Committee's web page in UCD.

The University Wub Unit is currently reviewing the UCD website and is researching additional features such as a search engine.

It was mentioned that the UCD website does not include an index.

It was recommended that a user manual be designed for the UCD website.

It was stated that UCD is the first Partnership Committee within a University with a web site. Prior to body of information being sent to areas, would like documentation compiled and sent to the University Officers before going live.

Car Parking
The Committee will be hearing a presentation from the University Architect at the next meeting.

It was mentioned that the Campus Development Plan will  incorporate a car parking plan.

Set up of sub-committee - HG, VMcK (email to be sent)

Family Friendly Policies
Family Friendly Policy - action plan within 3 months to be implemented by the HR Policy Committee and UCD to have in writing a flexible working practice. Family Friendly Policy to be included on index item on web page (sub group committee to be developed).

It was suggested that sub committees make recommendations to specific committees, as they are unable to implement change.

The effectiveness of the advertising campaign for Family Friendly Workplace Day was questioned, as present form of communication appears not to be working effectively i.e. posters in common room, bulletin/newsletter and advertising in different faculties.

Small document to be compiled on the Partnership Committee's responsibilities (ie policies - be well informed and find gaps).

AOB
It was suggested that a communication strategy be discussed at the next meeting, regarding the recommendation of internal printed matter.

It was stated that QAQI system referred to pay review committees.  The 50% pay review committee combine administrative & technical staff, with no academic representative (visa versa - academic council no administrative or technical staff within management committee).  The Chairperson will contact Professor McQuillan (director) querying this process.

Amendments and suggestions for the Partnership website to be submitted no than Friday 26th April 2002.
