PhD Awards 2013-14

The School of Philosophy at University College Dublin invites applications for 2 PhD awards in Philosophy, to begin in September 2013, in any area of philosophy relevant to the research interests of the members of the staff.

The award in the first year will give the successful candidates a remission of 3000 euro from the university PhD fees.  In year 2 and 3, subject to satisfactory performance, candidates will act as teaching assistants in the School receiving a stipend of 3000 euro and 50% remission of fees.

The School of Philosophy is also offering the position of Editorial Assistant to the International Journal of Philosophical Studies to one successful PhD candidate who demonstrates interest and aptitude in working with this internationally renowned philosophy journal. The stipend for the editorial assistantship is 3000 euro per annum.  Applicants interested in this position should include a letter with their application outlining their suitability for the position.

EU applicants are also eligible for the Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme.
