Lilian Alweiss Associate Investigator Dr Lilian Alweiss
Affiliation: Trinity College Dublin
Webpage: www.tcd.ie/Philosophy/staff/alweiss.htm
Research: Lillian Alweiss’ research focuses mainly on Kant and the phenomenological tradition. Topics addressed in the past include the problems of time, intentionality, space, scepticism (both other mind, and world directed scepticism) and moral responsibility. Alweiss is currently working on problems of self-consciousness and self-reference. Drawing on Wittgenstein’s Tractatus, she investigates how much truth there is to the solipsist’s (and the idealist’s) claim that we can only know the world from our vantage-point.
