Corylus (Hazel)

The genus Corylus comprises medium to large sized trees, with catkins in spring and nuts in the autumn. Corylus avellana (hazel) is native in Ireland.  Corylus colorna (Turkish hazel) is commonly planted as a street tree in Dublin city.
