Juglans Walnut

Large parkland trees to 25 - 30 m with alternate pinnate leaves. Juglans and Pterocarya (Wingnuts) have a chambered pith. Fruit woody globose 4 - 5 cm broad.  The common walnut Juglans regia produces edible nuts in hot summers.
