Gordon Kavanagh (

Gordon graduated from UCD in 2014 with an honours degree in Horticulture, Sportsturf and Landscape management. He is a research assistant at the PÉAC facility in Rosemount Environmental Research Station where he is responsible for supporting all aspects of current and future research projects.

Before returning to higher education Gordon trained as an electrician. He now uses these skills along with his horticultural knowledge to maintain the 15 state of the art, computer-controlled growth chambers at the facility and assist the research team in their projects.

Gordon’s area of interest is protected plant growth and, particularly, the effects of artificial lighting.
