4th International Meeting of Anthracology
Charcoal and microcharcoal, continental and marine records.
Cuticle Database Project
This project is designed to promote discussion and study of the characteristics of modern and fossil plant cuticle. It is a web-based collaboration between The Field Museum of Natural History, Chicago and the Florida Museum of Natural History. Username and password required. For access, email Rich Barclay.
Expedition to East Greenland
Details of the scientific background behind the interest in the Traissic-Jurassic boundary section in East Greenland and description of the field work required for collecting the research material we work with. Hosted by the Field Museum of Natural History, Chicago, USA.
Glossary of Pollen and Spore Terminology
Glossary of pollen and spore terminology from the Laboratory of Palaeobotany and Palynology at Utrecht University.
International Multiproxy Paleofire Database
The International Multiproxy Paleofire Database (IMPD) is an archive of fire history data derived from natural proxies. The IMPD, which includes data from tree scars and establishment data, and charcoal in sediment records, has been established to provide a permanent repository for high-quality paleofire records from around the world.
The International Organization of Palaeobotany
The International Organisation of Palaeobotany promotes international co-operation in the study of palaeobotany including palaeo-palynology.
International Subcommission on Jurassic Stratigraphy (ISJS).
The function of the ISJS is to "promote and coordinate long-term international cooperation and establish standards in stratigraphy, with the priority to define global chronostratigraphic units".
Leaf Architecture Manual
Morphological description and characterization of dicotyledonous and net-veined monocotyledonous Angiosperms.
Links For Paleobotanists
An annotated collection of pointers to information on palaeobotany or to WWW resources which may be of use to palaeobotanists (with an Upper Triassic bias).
National Interagency Fire Centre
Modern wildfire information and statistics for the USA.
The Paleobotany Project
Web-based collection of fossil plants from Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. The site allows you to compare your fossils with high-resolution images of specimens collected from many basins.
Plant DNA C-values Database
The DNA amount in the unreplicated gametic nucleus of an organism is referred to as its C-value. Information about C-values is used in a wide range of biological fields for reference and analysis purposes. This electronic database contains all available C-value estimates for angiosperms, gymnosperms, pteridophytes, bryophytes and algae.
Real Climate
Climate science for climate scientists: RealClimate is a commentary site on climate science by working climate scientists for the interested public and journalists.

Rhaetian and Jurassic plants of Scania database
The database encompasses the late Triassic and early Jurassic south Swedish flora, which most closely resembles the flora we study from East Greenland.
Subcommission on Triassic Stratigraphy (STS)
The STS is "charged with the establishment of a standard, globally applicable stratigraphic scale for the Triassic system".
Teaching documents about Palaeobotany
A large collection of links to teaching documents on all aspects of palaeobotany hosted by Institute of Mineralogy, University of Würzburg.
Tree of Life (ToL)web project
This web project provides information about the diversity of organisms on Earth, their evolutionary history (phylogeny), and characteristics. ToL pages are linked to each other hierarchically, in the form of the evolutionary tree of life, starting with the root of all life on Earth and moving out along diverging branches to individual species.
USGS natural hazards wildfire information
Including maps showing locations that have experienced wildlfires greater than 250 acres, from 1980 to 2003 along with US wildfire news.
