Learning & Development Opportunities 2012/2013

Close

Welcome to the new UCD Learning & Development Directory for 2012/13.

UCD training providers are now offering a more targeted approach to training, focusing on supporting staff in their work roles and linking learning to school/unit objectives, as well as taking into account the current external environment.

We aim to continue streamlining and prioritising our range of programmes so that the programmes provided are relevant and tailored to staff needs as well as being cost effective. All of our programmes are conveniently conducted in-house using the facilities available in UCD. Always refer to the learning & development website for further information.

To enable more effective searching for programmes suited to your needs, the programmes on this website can be found in three ways: under development pathways, by training provider and through the Google search option.

Development Pathways

UCD Development Pathways are guides or supports to help staff to identify specific programmes most relevant for their professional group. They offer the potential for  individuals to build and transfer job skills from one context to another and to broaden their range of expertise. Development pathways have been designed to help staff consider  additional programmes which may be of use to them in their career.

Training Provider

All training providers across the University are represented on this website.  Under each training provider a list of programmes from that provider can be found. Frequently asked questions under each provider should provide you with additional information you may need.

Google Search

At the top right hand corner there is a search button which will enable you to find any specific programme you require on the Learning and Development Opportunities website.

Each programme is assigned a code, which should be recorded when requesting the course. If you require a programme which is not currently on offer please provide your reviewer with the name of the programme and a brief description. The relevant learning & development provider will then discuss with you possibilities of running the programme you have requested.

Programme dates should be requested from each of the training providers if not specified in the directory, in some cases they are advertised on their website.
