Ms Ronnie Hayes
Assistant to the President
Ronnie Hayes graduated from the Faculty of Arts, UCD in 1975 with a BA degree in English and French. She was awarded the Higher Diploma in Education and taught in Presentation College, Bray, Co Wicklow. In 1978 she joined the staff of UCD in the Veterinary Faculty as assistant to Professor W.R. Kelly, Head of the Department of Large Animal Medicine. She transferred to the Department of Surgery at St Vincent’s Hospital in 1982 as administrative assistant to Professor Niall O’Higgins with special responsibility for administration of the Surgical Professorial Unit. She was appointed to the Registrar’s Office in 1984 before being promoted to the President’s Office during the tenure of President Thomas Murphy. She has held the post of Assistant to the President since 1996.
