University Management Team - Groups - UMT Capital
The UMT Capital Projects Committee will initiate, prepare capital appraisal reports, set tagrets and priorities, and oversee the major capital projects of the University.
Terms of Reference
- Aligning activities with the overall objectives of the UCD Strategic and Academic Plans
- To initiate major new projects to advance the development of the Campus
- To implement the Guidelines for the Appraisal and Management of Capital Expenditure Proposals as issued by the Department of Finance and the HEA
- To appoint a Project Director and Team to project-manage specific developments in the University
- To coordinate the funding of the major capital initiatives
- To assess the potential for philanthropy as part of the funding package
- To perform the role of steering committee in guiding the Project Team in its objectives
- To agree the precise objectives and deliverables of individual projects and to sign off on final designs
- To monitor the delivery schedules of major projects on behalf of the UMT
- To act as an information conduit between Project Teams and to the UMT Plenary
- To assess remedial actions proposed where a project fails to meet its timetables or objectives
- To prepare a completion report on each capital project
