UCD Professor of Clinical Psychology addresses four Dutch universities
On October 1st, Professor Alan Carr from the UCD School of Psychology made an invited keynote address in Leiden, Holland, to the Inaugural Postdoctorale Beroepsopleiding Orthopedagogiek (PDBO) congress.This event was hosted by the Universities of Leiden, Utrecht, Amsterdamn and the Free University of Amsterdam. Delegates at the event were staff and graduates of the clinical psychology programmes run at these four Dutch universities. . The address was entitled 'Individual and systemic approaches to case formulation in clinical psychology'. It was based on the clinical formulation models described in the second editions of Professor Carr's 'Handbook of Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology' and 'Family Therapy: Concepts Process and Practice'. Both of these books are widely used in the training of clinical psychologists in the Netherlands.
