The Routledge Psychology Revival’s series republishes out-of-print books by prominent authors. Positive Practice was the first family therapy book to be published by an Irish author. It set out a distinctive integrative model for clinical practice, at a time when integrating ideas and practices from different approaches and models was the exception rather than the rule within the field of systemic practice. The integrative model presented in Positive practice was further developed in Professor Carr’s bestselling text – Family Therapy: Concepts, Process and Practice. The third edition of this book was published in 2012.
