On March 19th 2015 Deirdre Keegan was conferred with an Aegrotat Honours Degree of Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
Deirdre has been a mature student on the honours BA programme in psychology for about two and a half years. The conferring ceremony was held at the picturesque UCD Nova Centre. It was attended by the Deputy Registrar, Dr Barbara Dooley, faculty from the school of psychology, the Mature Student Co-ordinator, Ronan Murphy, the Psychology BA Programme Administrator, Helena McCann, Deirdre’s family and friends. In his address at the conferring Professor Alan Carr, Head of the School of Psychology said ‘Deirdre you have worked hard. You have studied diligently. You have done this despite your illness. You have shown determination, tenacity, and courage which will be an inspiration to other students who face challenges like yours during their studies. You have earned your degree. We are delighted that today you have been conferred with the Aegrotat Honours Degree of Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.’ The sun shone brightly, on an excellent graduate.
