David Coleman Clinical Psychologist and Broadcaster

I studied all of my psychology at UCD, from my undergraduate degree through to my postgraduate clinical training.

Dr Tony Bates, Director of Headstrong, The National Centre for Youth Mental Health

I found the breadth and depth of the UCD undergraduate psychology course and my later experience of completing a PhD in the UCD School of Psychology to be compelling and inspiring. It introduced me to the complexity and richness of the human personality. In my life as a psychologist, the insights I achieved through studying at UCD have allowed me to appreciate the challenge of healing the mind and strengthening resilience, and to see through the appalling limits of what is often considered to be best practice.

Dr Jennifer Hayes, Principal Psychology Manager, HSE Cork, and winner of the Therese Brady Medal in Clinical Psychology

I would consider my training with the UCD School of Psychology as one of the key factors in launching my career as a clinical psychologist. This training equipped me with all the skills that I needed to work as a clinical psychologist in the health service and enabled me to contribute in a meaningful and significant way to the provision of clinical psychology services. The emphasis on evidence-based practice and research is palpable at every juncture and the high quality of teaching provided is at the cutting edge of national and international psychological knowledge. Teaching staff go about their work with enthusiasm, dedication and a determination to support and empower psychologists in training to develop into competent, confident and effective clinicians.

Dr Gregor Lange, Senior Lecturer, Clinical Psychology Training Programme, National University of Singapore

This qualification has opened up diverse and exciting professional opportunities for me around the world. I am currently employed at the National University of Singapore as a Senior Lecturer. I teach and provide clinical supervision. In addition, I work in private practice.
