Staff and student research is structured into two thematic areas;
- Promoting optimal health, clinical psychology, cognition and behavioural neuroscience; and
- The psychology of development, societal gain and social and organisational systems.

The School of Psychology at UCD offers a practitioners Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, as well as research degrees at both Masters and PhD level in most of the basic areas of psychology. The School of Education and Life-Long Learning also offers a taught postgraduate degree in Educational Psychology.
Postgraduate Research
For prospective post-graduate research students, the School of Psychology offers a comprehensive range of research facilities (e.g., a "state of the art" Eye-Tracking system " in its Research Laboratory) and a network of links with local and regional psychological services.
