Fees, Sponsorship & Financial Aspects
Indicative fees for the D Psych Sc are currently €14,500 for Irish and EU applicants and €29,000 for non-EU applicants. Course fees are currently under review.
Sponsorship has traditionally been available for Irish and EU postgraduates on the D Psych Sc. It has typically entailed the payment of a HSE trainee clinical psychology salary and 60% of D Psych Sc fees for the duration of the 3-year programme. Sponsorship is offered by HSE sponsoring agencies and other healthcare agencies on condition that following qualification psychologists will work for 3 years ‘pay-back time’ in their sponsoring HSE area or agency (or another HSE area if their sponsoring area cannot provide a post-qualification post). Sponsorship arrangements are currently under review.
Our sponsors are based in three distinct areas:
- HSE Dublin Mid-Leinster (Mid-Leinster Region)
- HSE Dublin North East (North East Region)
- HSE Southern Area (South East Region)
Sponsorships are HSE funded and trainees funded through such sponsorships complete placements of supervised clinical practice outside the greater Dublin area within the geographical area serviced by the sponsoring agency. Placements outside the sponsoring agency are only undertaken in exceptional circumstances and with the permission of the sponsor. An exception is usually made for the final specialist placement which may be undertaken outside the country. Successful applicants should therefore consider re-location to the sponsoring region or make arrangement to commute to that region.
