Biography:
| Dr. Mary Ivers has recently completed her doctoral research with the UCD School of Psychology at UCD Dublin, Ireland. Her doctoral research was in the area of Psycho-oncology with a focus on cancer survivorship in Ireland. She developed the CANSURVIVOR PROJECT which was the first formal multidisciplinary rehabilitation programme for post-treatment survivors in Ireland. This research was also the largest funded research project in Psycho-oncology in Ireland and was funded by HSE East Coast Area. Mary is a member of the Psychological Society of Ireland, the European Health Psychology Society, the International Psycho-Oncology Society and the International Association of Applied Psychologists. She has ten year experience teaching health psychology in UCD in addition to her duties as Research Laboratory manager with the School of Psychology.She is also Head of the Department of Psychology at All Hallows College, a college of DCU, Dublin. |
Research Interests
| My research specialization is in Psycho-oncology, particularly Cancer Survivorship and Rehabilitation. I have additional interests in the areas of stress, burnout and coping. My research takes a positive psychology approach focusing particularly on Hope and Optimism. Other areas of interest are Volunteerism and Health inequalities. |
